Freddie Hiscock

Community Coach

Freddie comes from a basketball family and started his journey playing from a young age at Harlow Hawks basketball club. He started his journey with our former company Russell Hoops when his Dad, Graham, became one of our community coaches.

Even at a young age Freddie has amassed vast playing experience playing not only junior national league for Harlow Hawks but also at Oaklands Wolves where he completed 3 years in the basketball academy programme playing in the EABL and the Men’s Division 2 team. Freddie has also represented his County playing several times for Herts. As a player Freddie has also taken part in our international tours to Spain and Portugal. These experiences have allowed Freddie to showcase his skills and compete at a high level of play gaining invaluable knowledge and understanding of the sport.

During his time in college, Freddie exhibited a strong desire to expand his understanding of basketball beyond just playing. Motivated to contribute to the sport in a different way, he decided to pursue refereeing and coaching qualifications. He successfully obtained his level 1 certifications in both areas, further enhancing his basketball knowledge and expertise.

Freddie’s coaching journey began with the Hertfordshire Under 11 boys where he has served as a coach for 2 years. He worked tirelessly to develop young players , instilling in them valuable skills, teamwork and a love for the game. His dedication and commitment were evident in the progress the under 11 boys made under his guidance.

Now in 2023 Freddie is ready to take his coaching career to the next level as he joins ACE Sports+. With his wealth of experience as a player, his coaching qualifications, and his successful stint with the Herts U11 boys, Freddie is set to make a positive impact on the ACE organisation. His passion for basketball coupled with his determination to develop young players will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and success of the program.
